About the network
Independent Colorado physicians. We think the patient who doesn't fit is the most important patient in the room. The network exists so that patient gets noticed, named and cared for by a physician with time to think.
- Purpose
- Rare, inherited and unexplained disease recognized early, in primary care, by a physician who knows the next step and who to call.
- Mission
- We link cash-pay and hybrid practices into cohorts that share the literature, the hard cases and the care maps for defined groups of patients. We hold each other to cited evidence. We build a roster of specialists and diagnostic centers that publish their prices and write back. No membership fee, no industry money, no payment for a referral.
- Vision
- Any patient with a complex or genetic condition can find a physician who listens, a diagnostic path that is written down, and a network that already knows the next step. The three-generation family history gets taken. The low alkaline phosphatase gets noticed. The negative exome gets reanalyzed instead of forgotten.
What we believe
- The outlier is the signal
- The patient who doesn't match the guideline isn't noise to average away. Most genetic disease first shows up as a pattern that doesn't fit, and the physician with time is the only instrument that picks it up.
- Time is a diagnostic tool
- Longer visits and continuity aren't luxuries. They're how a family history gets taken properly and how a slow disease is seen to move.
- Evidence, with the citation attached
- Every care map on this site cites its sources. When the evidence is thin, the map says so. When guidelines disagree, it shows the disagreement instead of quietly picking a side.
- Independence with accountability
- Independent practice means no payer between the physician and the question. It doesn't mean no standards. Members disclose conflicts, keep cases de-identified and stay within their licenses.
- Transparency in price and process
- A roster entry publishes what it costs and what it does. No patient should learn the price after the test.
- The patient chooses
- Care maps recommend; they never require. No member is paid for a referral, and no patient is steered.
Principles of practice
The operating rules behind the values. Members agree to them before their first session; counsel reviews the wording.
- Confidentiality. What members say about their practices, mistakes and cases stays in the group.
- De-identification. No names, dates, locations or images in any case. For rare disease, no combination of variant, age and region that could identify a family.
- Licensure. Case discussion is peer education. A formal consult on another member's patient needs a license where the patient is and a proper referral.
- Conflicts of interest. Members disclose industry relationships at the start of any session they present. No sponsored sessions, no sponsored content.
- No solicitation. The network isn't a channel for marketing to each other.
What we are not
Not a referral mill, a management company or a payer, and not a substitute for a licensed specialist consult. No affiliation with any hospital system, laboratory or manufacturer. The network is its own entity: convened by one physician, run on its members' time and attention.
Where the name comes from
Denver was founded where the South Platte meets Cherry Creek. The network runs on the same idea: genetics and primary care, cash-pay and hybrid practice, the physician and the specialist comparing notes.
